The Lamppost Education Initiative is pleased to present this special reprint of the last work of ‘Hujjatul-Islam’ -Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazzali’s ‘Ijam al-awaam ‘an ‘ilmul-kalam’ translated by Dr.Abdullah bin Hamid Ali as ‘A Return to Purity in Creed.

How did our noble salaf understand Qur’anic ayats and hadiths that refers to the ‘hand of Allah,’ Allah ‘rising above his throne,’ and other such references?  What is the ‘madhab’ of the salaf? This unique work focuses on how the early Muslims (the Salaf!)understood these issues and matters of creed. It provides critical explanations that will enhance our understanding and encourage us to avoid the contentious disputes and arguments that often occur concerning these issues of belief!

"This is a fluid and accessible translation of an important work on Islamic beliefs that clearly presents how a believer should strive to understand the Divine Attributes"
Dr. Abdullah bin Hamid Ali on 'A Return to Purity in Creed'

A Return to Purity in Creed, Imam Ghazzali proves, once again, to be a man of the times by striking a balance between two extremes and refocusing the ordinary Muslims on the simplistic beauty of the Islamic doctrine as learned and transmitted by the early Muslim community.  To accommodate our customers in the UK, Canada, and other parts of the world, you can obtain this book on Amazon.
